This vintage original print by Diana Thorne, was removed from the 1936 publication of “True Dog stories” by A.P. Terhune, making it approximately 87 years old.
It is a wonderful portrait of a German Shepherd puppy. Her intelligent and watchful nature is pictured as quite apparent at such an early age.
The title “The Age of Innocence”, and the artist’s signature are part of the printed page. It is covered in glass, and framed in a vintage gilded wood frame. The print is backed with what appears to be vintage floral wallpaper.
The entire piece (including the frame) measures 7 1/2″ tall x 6″ wide. The print and the frame are both in excellent condition.
Diana Thorne’s dog etchings are so admired because they capture the humor and energy of the dogs she portrays. This work of art stands beautifully alone, but it would also make an outstanding addition to a gallery grouping of similar prints in your home.
