This wonderful antique art is an original page of “The Illustrated London News” dated, June 11th, 1864, covering the prize dogs of the Second International Dog Show.
The list of dogs featured includes: Fox Terriers, Skye Terriers, Bloodhound, Pomeranian, Blenheim Spaniel, Newfoundland, Otterhound, Irish Water Spaniel, Kangaroo Hound, and an Indian Mastiff.
Since this is an original page, it is two-sided, and the original owner included a hand-written note (taped to the back), that gives a quick overview of the story that is continued on the other side of the page.
This entire, piece measures 18″ tall x 14″ wide. It is matted in a deep brown and it is framed under glass. Please note that some of the photos show a reflection of the camera lights against the glass.
It is in wonderful, ready-to-hang condition.
This gorgeous, antique, collectible art is large enough to hang alone. However, this is also the kind of unique and fascinating wall art that lends itself to a place of honor in your canine art gallery.
