Vintage Bulldog Figurine Mortens Studio

This wonderful, standing Bulldog was designed and produced by Mortens Studio. At 3 1/2″ tall x 5 3/4″ long x 2 3/4″ wide, he has fabulous detailing, showing bright, inquisitive eyes, characteristic “droopy jowls”, and a wide pink tongue.

The designer of this figurine, Oscar Morten, immigrated from Sweden to the U.S. and opened a gift ware studio in Chicago in 1931. Over the next 32 years, he created over 300 popular dog and horse models.

Composed of ceramic over a metal skeleton, these figurines, although beautiful and engaging, were prone to crazing and flaking, thus making it difficult, today, to find examples in perfect condition.

This dog is in mint condition. He is definately a perfect addition to your Bulldog collection.
