This wonderful, Victorian Mug was created in the late 19th century by the Wilcox Silver Company of Meriden, CT.
It is a quadruple silverplate mug with an exquisitely detailed dog seated at the top of the handle, as though perched and waiting to see what will be poured inside.
Measuring 4 3/4″ tall x 2 1/2″ in diameter, this unique antique mug is in quite good shape for its age.
There are spots where the silverplate has worn down to the metal, yet it is still quite elegant .
It would make a rare and excellent addition to a Victorian silver collection, as well as a charming and useful addition to your canine collection.
Imagine this mug on your desk holding your favorite writing instruments.
