You can almost feel this character scamper across the table with a ball clutched in his mouth!
This Royal Doulton Jack Russell Terrier figurine is done in a beautiful high gloss finish and it is in excellent condition.
He was issued by Royal Doulton in 1937 as part of the “Dogs of Character” series, which was a series of 12 dogs, modeled in various poses, and believed to be inspired by the works of Cecil Aldin, a popular British artist and illustrator.
This wonderful pup bears the green Royal Doulton backstamp and the mold # H.N. 1097. This backstamp, which is in the shape of an arc with a flat base, distinguishes it as one of the dogs produced early in the series.
It measures 2 3/4″ tall x 4 1/2″ long x 2 1/4″ wide.
On its own, he makes the perfect addition to your Royal Doulton dog collection, as well as a great gift for a Jack Russell Terrier lover.
