This charming vintage chalkware puppy dog was a prize that you would often see on the Midway during the 1930’s – 1940’s.
His wonderful, comical expression was done purposely to draw the attention of children and encourage them to play the carnival games.
His bold colors and air brushed paint puts him the group of chalkware “prizes” that have become highly collectible due to not only their history, but
for their irresistible, kitschy charm.
This puppy dog is also holding a ball covered in glitter, which would place him post 1930, and most likely into the 1940’s.
He measures 7 1/2″ tall x 3 1/2″ long x 2 3/4″ wide and he is in excellent condition.
