This wonderfully unique, antique pen stand was made by combining an antique Victorian quill pen stand and tray with two cold-painted bronze dogs. While the tray dates back to between 1860-1870’s, the dog pair, which look to be a Terrier and a Pug, are Bergman, dating them to around the early 1900’s, when the entire piece seems to have been put together. It is 3″ tall x 7″ long x 3 1/2″ wide and it is in great, antique condition. There is some paint lose on the dogs, which is expected, considering their age. The tray is brass, and it has two pedestal , flanged feet. The dogs look as though they have just happened upon each other and are ready to romp. This whimsical encounter adds tremendous charm to this elegantly designed desk accessory.
