This vintage clear, hand blown, glass decanter or creamer is one of the most unusual we have ever seen. Named a “Fyllehund”, which is translated as “filling dog”, it is Norwegian in origin. Standing 7 1/2″ tall x 8 1/4″ long x 4″ wide, it resembles a dog, with its long body and short legs. It’s long tail loops forward to touch the center of its back, forming the handle. The dog’s nose is both the spout of the piece, as well as the only way to fill it. It is in excellent condition. We cannot determine a precise age of this piece, although we do know that it was in the possession of its previous owner in the 1950’s.
This wonderful dog would make a beautiful, decorative piece in your kitchen, on your table or on your bar. If as a collector, one-of-a-kind, or highly unique pieces interest you, then this extraordinary dog would make a fabulous addition to your collection.
