Cuddled side-by-side, and just as sweet as can be, this pair of Scottish Terrier dogs form the top of this Art Deco, Nuart (NYC) trinket tray. They were made by using permanent mold slush metal castings, similar to the process used by the more familiar Frankart company.
Measuring 3 3/4″ tall x 6 1/2″ long, with a circular tray that is 3 1/2″ in diameter, this wonderful, decorative piece is in great condition, with minor paint loss on the Scotties. It was made in the mid-to-late 1920’s.
The cut glass dish we believe to be an “add-on”, although it fits like it was made for this piece, and it is also in excellent condition.
It is not difficult to imagine the many uses for this wonderful, collectible tray. Add to your list the possibility of also using it as a bookend, for it is quite heavy.
