It is hard to find a porcelain dog that is more engaging than those designed by Jens Peter Dahl -Jensen. This exquisite Husky dog looks as though he has just noticed something or someone that peaks his interest and makes him smile! Such realism,(look at his teeth and tongue), combined with Dahl-Jensen’s signature soft color palette, places this vintage porcelain figurine in a class all its own! Standing 6 1/4″ tall x 6 3/4″ long x 3″ wide, this gorgeous dog carries the standard DJ crown mark on his underside, along with the #1082. Although we are calling him a “Husky”, he is in fact a Greenland Hound, which is a large Husky-type dog, close to a Canadian Eskimo Dog. The Greenland Hound is used primarily as a working dog, to pull sleds and to hunt polar bears and seals. This fabulous figurine shows this powerful dog at his very best…a confident, loyal and protective dog. He is in excellent condition and he appears on page 39 of “Dahl-Jensen Porcelain Figurines 1897-1985 by Caroline and Nick Pope. This figurine is large enough to stand alone as a wonderful, decorative piece, or make a very special gift for a Husky/Greenland Hound owner or lover! Interested in Dahl-Jensen canines? Please take a look at the others we have in our shop. This particular dog is one of the difficult of Dahl Jensen’s canines to find.
