This adorable Boston Terrier Puppy Dog, designed by Mortens Studio in the 1930’s-1940’s, shows this Boston’s “pudgy puppiness” to perfection! Sitting 2 3/4″ tall x 3 1/2″ long x 1 3/4″ wide, he is so sweet and realistic-looking, that you can’t help but wonder just what antic he is contemplating! He is in excellent condition, with a small chip at the end of his tail. Any tiny light spots you might see in the pictures are only the result of the camera. The designer of this figurine, Oscar Morten, immigrated from Sweden to the U.S. and opened a giftware studio in Chicago in 1931. Over the next 32 years, he created over 300 popular dog and horse models. Composed of ceramic over a metal skeleton, these figurines, although beautiful and engaging, were prone to crazing and flaking, thus making it difficult, today, to find examples, like this one, in such great condition. This Boston Terrier pup is also the perfect desktop “friend”, guaranteed to make you smile! He would also make a wonderful gift to any Boston Terrier lover, but we caution you that once you see him, he will be quite difficult to give away!
