Royal Doulton Cocker Spaniel Figurines Pair
HN 1188 and K9
This fabulous pair of Cocker Spaniel dogs was designed by Frederick Daws for Royal Doulton.
They were introduced at approximately the same time (mid-30’s), and they were discontinued between 1969 through the 1970’s. The father Cocker Spaniel has that wonderful golden brown colouring with dark brown highlights. He stands at 3 1/2″ tall x 5″ long x 1 1/4″ wide and he is in excellent condition.
The sitting Cocker Spaniel puppy, (his son, we like to believe) measures 1 1/4″ tall x 2 1/4″ long x 1 1/4″ wide, and although he is designed with a bandage on his paw, he is actually also in excellent condition. He too, has the same beautiful colouring, and a high gloss finish like his Dad.
Both figurines are stamped with the Royal Doulton mark, and stamped with HN 1188 on the Dad and K9 on the pup.
Looking at this wonderful Cocker Spaniel pair, you cannot help but create wonderful stories of father & son relationships, especially around sports, where the occasional “wounded paw” would be quite common.
