This absolutely exquisite napkin ring has an extraordinary amount of detailing! On one side there is a standing Bulldog, done so realistically, that you can see the folds of skin on his neck, and his furrowed brow! He is standing on an oval-shaped table that has four claw-footed legs and gorgeous scrollwork on both the table top and on its very ornate sides. Next to the Bulldog is a beautiful napkin ring with a leafy “ruffled” edge and large roses down the middle. The entire piece measures 2 1/2″ tall x 2 1/4″ wide x 1 3/4″ long and it is great condition with some minor scratches on the underside of the table base, and a small knick on the top inside of the napkin ring itself. Overall, this napkin ring is an amazing example of the figural napkin rings that graced the tables of Victorian families during the early 1900’s.
