This wonderful portrait of an Airedale Terrier dog named “Junior” was done in 1961. Even though the medium used by the artist was simple, pastel chalk on craft paper, the portrait is very skillfully done, showing a dog who is both intelligent and lovable. It is 21″ tall x 16 3/4″ framed, and it is in great condition. There are three tiny specks up at the left hand corner, but they look to be on the inside of the glass and not on the portrait itself. There is a tribute, written in ink on the back which reads: “Junior Deisroth. Born August 16, 1956. Died August 19, 1968
He was Loyal and Affectionate and we loved him – It was mutual – He loved us too.”
This work of art needs to be displayed by a dog-lover, especially someone who has known and loved this incredible breed.
