Art Deco Dog Bookends

This wonderful pair of Art Deco cast iron bookends feature two matching terrier pups. They were made in New York City by Nuart, and they are each signed “Nuart Creations Made in the USA.”

They are made of heavy metal and then painted a combination of a gorgeous deep bronze color on the base and back, while the dogs are painted tan with bright black eyes.

Measuring4 1/2″ tall x 4 1/2″ long x 3″ wide, they are in good condition for being approximately 85 years old.
Their paint is entirely original and both dogs have paint missing. With the hopeful expressions on their sweet faces, it is easy to consider a few missing paint spots as part of their whimsical charm.
