Porcelain Rat Terrier Fairing
This antique, porcelain fairing depicts a Rat Terrier suddenly alert upon hearing someone say “Rats.”
This wonderful, porcelain Rat Terrier fairing shows the humorous juxtaposition of this pup who obviously lives in the lap of luxury,
when he has the soul and instincts of his farm dog heritage.
“Fairings”, were made and hand-painted in Germany and given out at outdoor fairs in England in the early 1900’s.
This fairing was made by Conta & Boehne of Germany.
Measuring 3 1/2″ tall x 3 1/2″ long x 2 1/8″ wide, this porcelain fairing is in excellent condition.
It has some hard to distinguish incised marks on its underside, that dates it post 1890.
Fairings are unique and highly collectible porcelain figurines, and the perfect dog lover’s gift.
This particular fairing, is a special favorite for Rat Terrier lover’s, and the perfect addition to any porcelain Terrier collection.
