Vintage Murano Glass Terrier Dog
Alfredo Barbini circa 1960s
This exquisite Murano glass Terrier dog is a rare and a wonderful find.
He was made by Alfredo Barbini in the 1960’s, and he is composed of pulegoso glass (glass containing numerous tiny bubbles) and then encased in clear glass.
He has a wonderful soft gold coat, created by groups of gold flecks, giving him a truly elegant appearance. He has red glass eyes and a red glass tongue. His nose and the tips of his tail and his ears are black glass.
He has a ruffled snout that beautifully mimics that “scruffy” terrier look. He looks like he just might be contemplating some mischief!
Measuring 8″ tall x 6″ long x 3″ wide, he is in excellent condition. There is a tiny rough spot at the very tip of his tail that we tried to capture in the pictures. It is hard to see.
He has his original “Made in Italy” foil label.
This dapper dog will add a taste of “glam” as well as fun to your Murano Glass collection.
He would also make a perfect and unique gift for any Terrier lover.
