This gorgeous pair of vintage, porcelain French Bulldogs is a “must-have” for any French Bulldog lover.
The reclining dog measures 3″ tall x 5 1/2″ long x 2″ wide. The seated dog measures 4 3/4″ tall x 5″ long x 2 1/4″ wide.
They are in excellent condition, with a few very small dark spots, that look like they occurred during the manufacturing process.
This wonderful pair of French Bulldogs are a matched pair, with the same blue/grey collars, and the same overall coloration.
Since they arrived here together, we believe that they have been a “couple” for quite a long time, and so, we would prefer to
keep them that way.
Aside from being absolutely exquisite, they have an interesting history.
These exact dogs were produced by Hueubach in black and white, and occasionally in white, but while they each have the incised number (#7093 & #7094) which identify them as Heubach molds, they are not marked Heubach. Instead, each one carries a red crown mark with the letters “ABL”.
It appears that since Heubach was one of the makers for ERPHILA (Ebeling & Reuss of Philadelphia), these French Bulldog figurines could have been imported by ERPHILA from Germany, and then sold to a store in the USA. That store then put its’ mark on the underside of each dog.
Such a history gives this pair of porcelain Frenchies even more reasons to add them to your French Bulldog collection.
