This vintage 1950’s boxer dog ashtray is definitely more about fun, than function. With the very “kitschy” appeal, made popular in the 50’s to the 60’s, it depicts a mother Boxer dog leading her two puppies up to a large barrel. With her two front paws up on the side of the barrel, she doesn’t look too pleased to see it empty. The entire piece is 5″ tall x 7″ long x 4″ wide, and it is in excellent condition. The white spot that shows up in the picture of the bowl of the ashtray is due to lighting and reflection anomalies caused by the camera flash. This is a wonderful collector’s piece, a gorgeous decorative piece, and a very special gift for any Boxer owner. The chain that is supposed to connect all 3 dogs is still intact, but it has detached from the tiny loop that is under the mother Boxer’s chin. It was made in Japan, and distributed by the Wales China Company. For those of us that love to re-purpose things, it is easy to see many uses for this piece, from a desk caddy, to a vanity tray, or even a “swizzle stick” and olive dish for your bar! This is a wonderful collector’s piece, a unique decorative piece, and a very special gift for any Boxer owner.
