Capturing the alert and inquisitive stance that is so typically a “Jack”, this fellow has a wonderful high gloss finish and stands a full 5″ tall. He is marked “31” on the underside of one paw, and Beswick England on the underside of two other paws. He was designed by Arthur Gredington, who was the company’s first full time modelier. The Beswick factory was established in 1894 in Longton, Stoke on Trent, England. In 1969 Beswick was sold to Royal Doulton, and the Beswick factory was closed in 2002. This figurine was issued in 1967 during what was considered “The Golden Age” of Beswick.
