Very few porcelains can match the extraordinary use of color and detailing of those by the Italian artist Guido Cacciapuoti (1892-1953), and this pair of elegant Springer Spaniels or English Setters is no exception. You can spend hours, just looking at the detailing of these dogs! From their alert and friendly expressions to the flowing grace of the fur lines on their chests, necks, ears and underbellies, to the sweep of their tails and the joints and nails on their paws…these dogs are just about ready to jump off of the shelf and into your heart! Standing at 71/2″ tall x 11 1/2″ long x 5″ wide, the front Spaniel is done in creamy vanilla with soft black ears, and nose, with touches of the same color on the tail, lower back and front legs. The second dog has close to the same markings, but done in a beautiful deep caramel color. Both dogs have highly detailed, tri-color eyes that make them look all the more realistic. This piece is hand signed “Cacciapuoti” on the back of the base and has a silver tag on the underside that reads “Cacciapuoti Italy 2064”. It is in Mint condition. Perfect in every way, these gorgeous dogs would be the focal point of any porcelain dog collection, or decorative arrangement in your home. They would make an amazing gift, but we must caution you that once you see them…they will be very difficult to part with!
