A puppy’s world is full of discovery, and this wonderful chalkware figurine depicts a really adorable one! Probably while getting ready for a nap, this beagle pup notices that he has company in the form of what looks to be a beetle, traveling across his back. In true puppy form, always optimistic…this beagle actually seems to be smiling at his new found “friend”. This piece was originally a prize given out at a carnival or country fair between the 1930’s and early 1950’s. At 2″ tall x 2 3/4″ long x 1 1/2″ wide, this figurine is in great condition for its age. Slight paint loss on his ears and back doesn’t take anything away from his enormous appeal. He is hand painted in cream and medium brown with a touch of metallic gold on his nose. A wonderful choice for collectors of chalkware and for dog-lovers who love collectibles that look like they are telling a story!
