This engaging porcelain Springer Spaniel figurine was designed in Wien/Vienna Austria by Rudolf Chocholka (1888-1958), who was well known for his magnificent animal sculptures. Manufactured in the Keramos Porcelain Factory, it is numbered “1879”, signed by the artist, and it bears the Wien Keramos stamp.
It is very hard not to fall in love with a Springer Spaniel. Their grace, combined with unbridled enthusiasm, makes them both beautiful to behold, as well as perfect companions. This gorgeous porcelain figurine is no exception. Caught in a relaxed pose, this pup has almost crossed front paws, relaxed hind legs, but an alert expression, that shows he/she is ready to rise to the very next “interesting” noise or situation. At 7″ long, it is substantial, and it would easily stand alone as a focal piece. It is in excellent condition.
